Agriculture

According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), the DRC has nearly 80 million hectares of arable land, 4 million of irrigable land, of which only 1% is cultivated and peasant agriculture occupies 70% of the active population.

This unfortunately contrasts with the extreme poverty of the population (especially rural) who live on these lands which are suitable for agriculture.

And, often, poverty is linked to hunger.

This is how the main mission of EBaM consists, precisely, in promoting agriculture, in providing the most disadvantaged rural communities with the tools necessary for their food self-sufficiency.

Concretely, EBaM supervises and trains widows and orphans on the cultivation of basic necessities such as maize elaeis and other cereals.

We also provide them with sufficient means for their autonomy. And this on own funds.

EBaM targeted, as a priority, the victims of the massacres perpetrated by Kamuina Nsapu militiamen in 2017.

These widows and orphans, for the most part, find themselves completely destitute without resources and often left to their sad fate.

Other communities and categories of the population also need this assistance. Unfortunately, EBaM has limited means.

We will be looking for national and/or international partners who can support us in this noble task.
